Scott Tucker

Scott Tucker Solutions, Inc.

President & Investment Adviser Representative

Scott Tucker grew up in Lansing, Michigan, but has called Chicagoland home since 1998.

Formerly a Chicago resident, he has resided in Mount Prospect since 2022.

A lifelong Detroit Red Wings fan, he proudly wears his Detroit Red Wings jersey to the United Center whenever they’re in town.

Blackhawks fans wave at him, without using all their fingers, making it clear that he’s number one.

Scott is the author of Illinois Graverobbers, Escape Illinois: Should I Stay or Should I Go?, and The Fireman’s Guide to Deferred Compensation.

He is also a contributor to Kiplinger and co-host of Retirement Decoded with Scott Tucker & Amy Jacobson on AM 560 The Answer (WIND).

Passionate about education, Scott teaches workshops in classroom settings at DePaul University, Oakton College, and the Mount Prospect Public Library, among others.

His workshops cover estate planning, tax planning, investment risk and reward, asset protection trusts (for long-term care), health insurance and Medicare, revocable and irrevocable trusts, pour-over wills, Social Security retirement, testamentary trusts, credit shelter trusts, Qualified Terminable Interest Property trusts, Qualified Domestic Trusts, Charitable Lead Trusts, Charitable Remainder Trusts, Grantor Retained Unitrusts, Intentionally Defective Grantor Trusts, Spousal Lifetime Access Trusts, Family Limited Partnerships, Family Limited Liability Companies, Special Needs Trusts, Spendthrift Trusts, Domestic Asset Protection Trusts, Blind Trusts, Donor-Advised Funds, Private Family Foundations, Pooled Income Funds, Business Succession Trusts, Buy-Sell Agreements, Qualified Personal Residence Trusts, tenancy structuring, Foreign Grantor Trusts, expatriate estate planning, treaty-based estate planning, and related topics.

A United States Navy veteran, Scott served 5 years on active duty as a cryptologist (code breaker). His service took him all around the world, including 2 years stationed in Scotland on a Royal Air Force base, where he played hockey for the Aberdeen Northstars, and 2 years on board the USS Theodore Roosevelt (CVN 71), working on the flight deck as a technician—identified by his green jersey.

Scott’s military service earned him a Flag Letter of Commendation from Rear Admiral Fallon, a Navy and Marine Corps Achievement Medal, and selection for White House duty based on his distinguished service record.

The Accredited Investment Fiduciary (AIF®) Designation demonstrates the individual has met educational standards to carry out a fiduciary standard of care and acting in a client's best interest.
